Ice Skating Blanchardstown returns in 2023 to Millenium Park, with access to the park behind the McDonalds Drive-Thru. We can’t wait to welcome the same fantastic skaters that join us year after year!

Q. What is the minimum age?
A. We recommend that children from aged 3 and up can take part, once they are very solid on their feet. We recommend bringing children for a look first to see what they think as if they don’t like it on the day we cannot offer refunds or vouchers.
We have special skates with 2 blades and penguin skate aids to help.
Q. What time should I arrive?
A. We recommend arriving at the venue 20 minutes in advance of your skate session.
Q. Can I get food and drinks on site?
A. Yes, there are multiple food and drink options available at the Alpine Food Village on-site. We have pizzas, hot beverages, crepes, and many other sweet and savoury food options to choose from. Check our socials for more details.
Q. Is it real ice?
A. Of course, we are the Irish partners of Austrian ice rink suppliers AST. We also use ice resurfacers called zambonis to resurface our ice regularly.
Q. How long does the skating session last?
A. Each skating session lasts for 50 minutes. We cannot extend the session time for those who arrive late.
Q. Do I need to stay on site while my kids skate?
A. Any child under the age of 12 needs to be supervised by an adult. You do not have to participate but you must stay on site.
Q. What should I wear?
A. Comfortable clothing and thick socks. We recommend bringing spare socks for after you skate.
Q. Do you have lockers?
A. Yes, you will need a (non-refundable) €2 coin to use them.
Q. Do you provide ice skates?
A. Skate rental is included in the ticket price. If you have your own skates there is no reduction in ticket price.

A. We do not offer a sharpening service for your personal skates.

A. Yes, there are helmets and protective padding available from the skate desk free of charge.
We advise the use of suitable ice skating PPE for all skaters. We advise the use of helmets, gloves, knee pads, and elbow pads. Ice skating PPE is available at the venue or you can bring PPE of your own.
Q. Will penguin skate aids be available?
A. Penguins are available and can only be used in the small rink area, not on the trail.
Skate aids must be booked in advance of your ice skating session to guarantee availability. As much as we would like to, it is simply not possible to provide a penguin for every child. There are height restrictions for the use of the penguin skating aids (which means these are not suitable for adults or children taller than 1.2m)
Q. Do you accept carers’ cards?
A. Visitors with additional needs may admit one accompanying carer free of charge when they purchase a ticket. Carers’ tickets can only be purchased at the entry upon arrival to the venue, they are not available to purchase online or over the phone.
Please ensure you have your Carer ID and relevant documentation to hand.

When you enter Fota, follow the signs for Fota House and use the lower car park.
The skate trail is located opposite Fota House.
Q. Is there on-site parking?
A. Fota provides a car park that can be used by ice skating customers. A €3 fee is payable by Euro coins or by contactless card payment at the exit barriers. Use the lower car park for Fota House. Alpine Skate Trail is not accessible by train.

Q. How do I get there?
A. By Bicycle – We will have a dedicated bike parking area at the Ice Rink. Generally, it takes 40-50 mins via bicycle from Dublin City Centre, with some scenic coastal route options. There is a dedicated cycle lane from Blackrock to Dun Laoghaire harbour.
By bus – Bus stops (2036, 2037, 2039, 2041, 4983) are all within 5-10 mins walk from the ice rink.

By car – There will be over 100 free car parking spots at the ice rink. These spaces are reserved for those who have made an online booking in advance. Proof of booking must be shown upon entry to the car park.

Q. Is there alternative parking?
A. Dún Laoghaire Harbour on street parking is available, normal parking availability and restrictions apply.
